In-house capabilities

Wearparts products are designed and manufactured in partnership with some of the world’s leading farm implement makers, based on real feedback from US farmers. Every product is assembled, modified and tested as required at our Nebraska HQ before being shipped out to our dealers.

CMT Hardfacing

Cold Metal Transfer (CMT) hardfacing is a cold welding process that adds extra material to the leading edge of ground-engaging components for additional durability and a longer wear life.

In conventional MIG welding, the electrode is automatically fed through the welding gun, resulting in a continuous current or arc. This leads to extreme temperatures of over 6000°F, which can cause problems such as warping/distortion or burn through, especially on thinner metals.
The CMT welding process uses automated welding gun technology with a retracting electrode to reduce heat. This reduces the risk of welding defects caused by contamination or warping while also making the process much cleaner, delivering a smooth weld without spatter. We offer custom hardfacing on many Wearparts components including sweeps, peanut blades and fertilizer knives.

Plasma Cutting

Plasma cutting is a process we use to cut bolt patterns and other apertures into metal components using a jet of pressurized, super-heated gas.

During this process, an electric arc is passed through a gas that is forced through a narrow channel inside the plasma torch. During this process, the gas heats up to extreme temperatures and enters a plasma state, where it’s capable of cutting through metal of varying thicknesses with both high speed and extreme precision.

We have automated plasma cutting tables in both our Nebraska and Georgia locations and can cut disc blades and other components to any bolt pattern. You can watch the plasma cutting process in action here.

Seed Opener Assembly

Wearparts seed opener assemblies bring together some of the finest quality discs, bearings and housings from leading manufacturers around the world, including Forges de Niaux, PEER and FKL.

These are then assembled in-house, using state-of-the-art press technology to deliver quality and specification that typically exceeds that offered by OEM brands.

Every seed opener assembly is tested by us before it leaves the warehouse, using some of the strictest tolerances in the industry – if it doesn’t meet a minimum of .050/1.27mm axial / .060/1.52mm radial tolerance, it doesn’t go out. This testing forms the basis of our Guaranteed True™ promise, which means no more wasted hours pre-qualifying blades before installation.
